Founder & Managing Attorney - Larimer Law, PLLC

John is a Rochester NY native who started Larimer Law in 2014. After receiving his undergraduate degree in Government from the University of Notre Dame, John attended the George Washington University School of Law. During law school, John was a law clerk at two large D.C. law firms, and interned for the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Ethics. After completing a clerkship with the District of Columbia Court of Appeals, John was a litigator in both a large multinational law firm and a small litigation boutique before becoming chief litigation counsel for a multi-national pharmaceutical and medical device company.

John started Larimer Law to address the need for competent and cost-effective services in the burgeoning electronic discovery and data management legal market. John's practice focuses on electronic discovery, data management and analytics, and associated emerging legal practices and technologies. John frequently acts as co-counsel and discovery counsel to multinational law firms and corporations, advising clients on best practices relating to early case assessment and data reduction strategies in the context of litigation and investigations. Larimer Law is nationally renown for its expertise in electronic discovery and document review services, data retention and forensics, the Global Data Protection Regulation and other emerging data usage and privacy laws and regulations, and early case assessment and strategy. John writes and speaks on broad variety of electronic discovery and data privacy topics, and is featured as a regular columnist in the NY Daily Record. In 2019, the Daily Record selected John for its Attorney of the Year Award, which honors attorneys who have shown "dedication to the legal profession and selfless, tireless commitment to the community." John is a member of the Sedona Conference Working Group 6 on International Electronic Information Management, Discovery and Disclosure, and of the NY State Bar Association Committee on Autonomous Vehicles & the Law. John is also an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Buffalo, teaching a class on electronic discovery, data law and legal technology.
